But for some reason, the average adult laughs only about 15 to 20 times a day compared to the average child that laughs 300 to 500 times a day.
What changes? Is laughing only for children? Are adults not funny?
Not only does laughter make life more fun, it also helps with problem solving, creativity, and engaging in the present moment.
As adults, we get so caught up in our “to do” list and each of our scheduled events in a day that we do not live in the moment.
We are masters of multi-tasking and are constantly distracted by the next meeting, soccer practice or deadline. Instead of thinking about what is coming next, let’s just think in this moment. Think only about what you are doing and/or trying to accomplish right now.
By clearing the clutter of what is next, you are fully present right now and paying attention.
We must focus on the present to enjoy things that are happening in life right now.
Maybe we need to take ourselves a little less serious sometimes and lighten up a bit. It’s okay to laugh at yourself and pay attention to the children around you. We could all learn some lessons from them: taking life lightly, enjoying the moment, and LAUGHING!
Go ahead and give it a try! How many times will you laugh today?Tweet
